Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude try the NextGEN plugin. I need feedback on it.
To activate it, go to the plugins menu in your dashboard, find it on the left, and click ‘activate’. That’ll give you a new Gallery menu in your dashboard. You can set lots of ways in which your photos are displayed, upload to a gallery (though the flash uploader doesn’t work currently but the browser uploader lets you batch-upload, which is awesome), and then when you make a blogpost there’s a new button on your post-writing toolbar to add a NextGen image/album/gallery.
Ahh, yeah we have a size limit for uploads. Can’t be more than 1500kb. At the moment every user is only given 10mb of space but we’ll probably increase that at some point if it doesn’t cost us too much server-side.

It’s a better photo gallery manager than the one that comes with WordPress as standard. Lets you display your pics more fancy-like.

I have copies of all my photos at 18% but without a watermark. I’ll run a batch tomorrow to add it. Average size is about 200kb.
Thank you so much

I’ve seen a watermark feature on NextGEN too, you could try that out.
